Walking with Moms in Need

The Walking With Moms in Need program was launched at St. Joseph Church on June 4, 2022 in an effort to expand our outreach to pregnant and parenting women facing unexpected or challenging circumstances. This program focuses on assisting women in need by empowering them to become more independent through educational and workforce opportunities and teaching them how to access resources based on their needs and individual barriers. This will also prepare them for future life challenges and potentially continue the spectrum of support to their peers and to this program.

If you are or know of a mom in need of help, click here (link to bilingual flyer, attached file).

Altar & Rosary Society

The purpose of the Altar &R Society is to cultivate and promote a greater devotion to Our Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar through Our Lady as Queen of the Most Holy Rosary; likewise, to employ ways and means to secure the adornment of the sanctuary of the Most Blessed Sacrament and Our Lady's shrine.

These women are dedicated to serving our parish and community. They engage the home bound and youth, purchase altar supplies, donate to the Manna for Hammond Soup Kitchen and the St. Vincent De Paul Society, and much more.

  • Monthly devotions are held the first Sunday of the month at 8:30 am.

    • Spiritual reflections are held at alternate locations throughout the year also.

  • The A&R Society meets the first Sunday of the month at 10:00 am in Vrabley Hall (church basement).

  • For more information, contact the parish office.

Holy Name Society

If you are interested in joining this group, they meet the 2nd Sunday of every month at 10:00 am in Vrabley Hall.

The Confraternity of the Most Holy Names of God and Jesus (Holy Name Society) promotes reverence for the Sacred Names of God and Jesus Christ, obedience and loyalty to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church, and the personal sanctification and holiness of its members. Members are called to contribute to the evangelization mission of the Church and to make perpetual acts of reverence and love for our Lord and Savior. The apostolate of the society is to assist in parish ministries by performing the Corporal Works of Mercy: to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, give drink to the thirsty, shelter to the homeless, tend the sick, visit those in prison, and bury the dead; as well as the Spiritual Works of Mercy: to convert sinners, instruct the ignorant, counsel the wayward, comfort the sorrowing, bear adversity patiently, forgive offenses, and pray for the living and the dead.
